Arnold “Arnie” Norem, 80 passed away on March 12, 2024. He was born in Minnesota on November 12, 1943 and moved to Washington State in 1951. His parents were Arnulf and Solveig Norem. He graduated from SKHS in 1961.

He married Marjorie Watson in 1966 and settled in their new home in Port Orchard. Arnie was in the National Guard from 1965 - 1971. He went through the Ship-fitter Apprenticeship at PSNS and worked as a journeyman for several years. He was then promoted to Nuclear Inspector until 1972 when he changed careers. He became a Real Estate Broker and purchased Port Orchard Reality. He also worked as a Real Estate Appraiser. Arnie was very active in the community. He served as the Rotary President, Chamber of Commerce President, was on the Board of Directors for Harrison Hospital Foundation. When his kids were young, he was active in 4H, going to various fairs and livestock shows.

Arnie enjoyed his farm and gardening. He loved mowing the pasture on his tractor and took great pride in the berries that he grew. Arnie and Marge spent many hours with their flowers and the hanging baskets that surrounded their home.

He is survived by his wife Marjorie, son Arnold Jr (Jamie), son Jason (AmyBeth), son Jeffrey (Becky), sister Linda Hughes and six grandchildren; Colton, Benjamin, Alexis, Aiden, Samantha and Macy.
